
Stejha C. Meekins
Born in Hempstead, NY and raised between New York and South Carolina, Stejha C. Meekins was exposed to an array of rich cultures and artistic expression. She developed an interest in instrumental music from a young age and would go on to study music throughout her primary and secondary education. Studying at Brooklyn High School of the Arts, Stejha went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Bethune Cookman University, as well as her Master of Music from the University of Florida. Recognizing her passion for music and the Performing Arts, as well as the profound impact music had on her childhood, Stejha went on to serve inner city youth as a Music Educator. She has 10+ years of educational experience with grades K-12, has increased the awareness of the need for Performing Arts in charter school organizations, and is fervent about creating spaces for the youth to thrive in artistically. In addition to professional experience, she also has over 20 years of personal experience in the music performance world, having performed in numerous televised events, non-profit wind ensembles, multiple gospel concerts, and regularly in her church community. She is now expanding her capacity into Christian writing, motivational works, and public speaking engagements. Stejha’s desire is to aid today’s youth, as well as people of all ages, to discover their unique purpose in the world and explore what it means to experience abundant, exhilarating, worthwhile living.
